What is the Handbook?
The Handbook is a set of recommendations based on results obtained from the ARTS project.

What is the Handbook for?
The recommendations in the Toolbox assist transport planners and key stakeholders in the future design, implementation and evaluation of rural transport systems. The Handbook will provide transport planners and key stakeholders an overview of the final output from ARTS in their own language.

What form/format does the Handbook have?
It is in the form of an illustrated written reference guide or pamphlet of a practical nature. It will be translated into at least nine different languages other than English. All versions will be made available on the web as PDF documents.

What kind of content does the Handbook have?
The Handbook summarises the recommendations of three types (technical, organisational and policy-related) presented in the Toolbox. The recommendations provide linkage between strategies/measures and impacts/indicators in simple to understand terms. The results are linked to practical examples of public transport schemes in rural areas.
